If you ever purchase an older property and find that the hallway (and even the main rooms) have been fitted with a laminate floor or carpet, it is worth checking underneath.
Often, the original tiles will be found underneath a far less appealing modern floor covering.
Such was the case with this property in Swansea that we worked at recently.
Indeed, upon getting handed the keys, the new owner decided to pull up the hallway flooring and found a beautiful tiled floor beneath.
Whilst it was in need of significant work, the potential was most definitely there, with minimal damage to the tiles.

The tiles had areas blighted by asphalt, along with some bitumen and ingrained sealant.
It was goin to take a fair amount of hard work and so we agreed a plan of action and set to work removing the stubborn surface coatings.
Once these had been removed, we cleaned the tiles with our rotary machine and an alkaline cleaning solution before drying the floor and then sealing it with a lovely satin finish.
The results were worth the had work and the owner of the property was thrilled.
